INGIBJÖRG ÝR Skarphéðinsdóttir
Ingibjörg Ýr Skarphéðinsdóttir started her musical studies and piano lessons with Sunčana Slamnig in Egilsstaðir, Iceland. After graduating from Menntaskólinn á Egilsstöðum she went to Norway where she studied piano, choir singing and composition at Toneheim Folkehøgskole. Afterwards she studied piano at the Grieg akademiet in Bergen for a year. Ingibjörg Ýr started her studies at the Iceland Academy of the Arts in the autumn 2013. Her teachers were Hróðmar I. Sigurbjörsson and Anna Thorvaldsdottir. She graduated in the spring 2016 and the following autumn she started an internship with Anna Thorvaldsdottir in England. Ingibjörg Ýr is a part of the art ensemble Hlökk along with Lilja María Ásmundsdóttir and Ragnheiður Erla Björnsdóttir. In January 2018 they performed new pieces at the Dark Music Days Festival in Iceland where they used elements from different art forms, mainly music, visual arts and creative writing, to create new compositions.
