Carolina Burandt is interested in the absurdity of daily banalities. Things which make you wonder a little and thereby causing an amused „How?”. She understands her role as a contemporary artist as being a catalyst and mediator in-between unseen, hidden situations, objects and moments and those who overlook them in the whirlwind of everyday noise and distraction. In her current work and research she is interested in the effect of performance arts on the viewer and the possibility of establishing an interactive exchange of ideas and experiences in-between the artist and the observer. In that she is experimenting with the body as material and she is aiming at finding a language of movement which is universally understandable on an intellectual but more importantly on an emotional level. Carolina wants to open up the arts and take them down the pedestal in order to make them experienceable for everybody.
